Access For All

The entrances to the Lyric Theatre are on 42nd and 43rd Street, with an accessible entrance on 42nd Street. The 42nd Street entrance is at street level with access to an elevator to the Orchestra and Dress Circle levels. Please request wheelchair seating from a sales representative at time of purchase. We have designated ADA locations in both the Orchestra and Dress Circle levels, with elevator access available to both. There is no elevator access to the Balcony level. Accessible restrooms are located in the Dress Circle lobby.

The Lyric Theatre is pleased to offer GalaPro, an app for on-demand captioning and audio description that you can use on your personal smartphone device. GalaPro makes theatre accessible for patrons who are hearing or sight impaired, or just don’t want to miss a word of the show. In addition, GalaPro offers language translation subtitles of each performance. The current languages available for translation subtitles are French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese. Please be advised that, at this time, the Lyric Theatre does not offer Audio Translation (Dubbing).

In addition to GalaPro, assistive listening devices are available for hearing-impaired guests.

Having recently partnered with KultureCity, The Lyric Theatre is now a certified sensory inclusive venue. This means that the venue has designated certain areas as “Headphone Zones” and “Quiet Areas” as well as “Sensory Bags” available for checkout. “Sensory Bags” are equipped with noise canceling headphones (provided by Puro Sound Labs), fidget tools, verbal cue cards, Sun/Strobe glasses, a KCVIP lanyard, and a weighted lap pad. Prior to attending, download the KultureCity App to view more about what sensory features are available and where they can be accessed.
